Biography
Ngone Sow is the proud owner and operator of Soween Hair Salon and has over 28 years in the hair salon business. Ngone began her illustrious career as a hair stylist in Senegal, West Africa. She was heir to the hair styling tradition by way of her beloved mother, Amy Sow who was renowned for her remarkable talents as a hair stylist. Ngone’s talents were exceptional and caused many in her community of West Africa to desire, and request her work regularly. Ngone’s name and talents became so well known that it caught the attention of many of Africa’s first ladies where she began creating styles for some of Africa’s most prominent first ladies. Eventually Ngone’s talents were in high demand and she became one the first hairstylist to open a hair salon in Senegal West Africa. This was a remarkable accomplishment as Ngone was only 14 years of age at the time!
Combined with many other accolades including working with some of the top hair models and hair magazines. Ngone has also been involved in many ongoing professional educational seminars where she has worked continually to disseminate information regarding the latest hairstyling trends and hair care products. In addition to this, she conducts ongoing hairstyling courses, which are open to professional hairstylist, students and customers. Ngone has worked very close with many of the industries top hair producers, which include but are not limited to Outre, Ultima and Sensational. Ngone is currently a Master Ambassador stylist for Pro 10 where she teaches both future ambassadors and students about Pro 10. She is also the president of the African Braider’s hair associations of New York.
